A recent accident on May 4 in Chandler Arizona, where a Honda sedan swerved and hit a self-driving car making a significant damage to the cars and left behind with minor injuries to the car drivers.
Air15 video showed that collision of the Waymo self-driving car and a Honda silver sedan. By the Police reports, a Honda sedan driving eastbound on Chandler Boulevard had to swerve to avoid striking another vehicle traveling northbound on Los Feliz Drive. As the Honda swerved continuing eastbound, driving into the westbound lanes and hit the Waymo minivan.
After the launch they invited residents of Phoenix, Arizona to join a public trial of the self- driving after which continued to provide the services. CEO of Waymo John Krafcik said he was confident in his company’s technology after the similar accident happened when Uber’s self-driving hit and killed a pedestrian.
In November 2017, Waymo informed the minivans will operate without a test driver but the Policemen reported that an operator was found behind the vehicle.
