Getting Started on Samsung Pay
- Update your device to the latest Android™ software that enables Samsung Pay.
- Create your Samsung Account (Settings > Accounts > Add Samsung Account)
- Now click on the Samsung Pay icon on your device.
How it Works?
In Samsung Pay, the user can add up to 10 credit and debit cards and mark some of them as favourite. It is a one-time process that can be easily done by using the smartphone’s camera or by typing in the details such as card number, CVV and expiry date manually.
Samsung pay replicates physical card transactions through the smartphones by using MST – Magnetic Secure Transmission (Place mobile on the side of the card machine) and NFC – Near Field Communication (Place mobile on the top of the card machine).
- Swipe up from any screen to launch the app (works even on home/lock screen)
- Choose cards by swiping through the available cards.
- Authenticate using the biometrics or pin, Tap and Pay.
Transaction history for all the payments is available within the app.
We can also Transfer Money using UPI, add Paytm or Mobikwik wallet to show/scan codes and send/receive money and pay bills: Mobile post-paid, Electricity, DTH, Broadband, Landline, Gas, Water bills with UPI on Samsung Pay.
Samsung has designed a three-tier security for Samsung Pay to protect your transactions.
Samsung Knox is an enterprise mobile security solution pre-installed in most of Samsung smartphones, tablets, and wearables. It is a defence-grade mobile security platform that provides real-time device protection from the moment you turn it on.
Digital Tokenization uses encrypted digital Token and the card details are never stored on the phone. All transactions use a random token instead of the card number, which means the actual card information isn’t shared while paying and details stay safe.
Authentication can be done in any one of the 3 ways: Iris scan, Fingerprint or a 4-digit Samsung Pin. You can authorise payments for Note 9, Note 8, S8, S8+, S9 or S9+ with your eyes using the iris scanner, one of the most secure methods of biometric authentication.
Rewards & Redemption
For every transaction performed on Samsung Pay, the user gets a Samsung reward Points that can be redeemed to Vouchers available in the catalogue for Samsung products, food & beverage, entertainment and shopping. Minimum transaction value of INR 50 for UPI & Wallets, and INR 100 for Bill Payments is required to earn Reward points.
Samsung Pay works everywhere you can swipe or tap your card. It makes shopping, dining, paying bills or transfering money easy, secure and convenient.
